Welcome to Doggett Custom Knives. I have had the very good fortune of learning the fundamentals and technique from Michael J. Smith and Reese Weiland. I am especially grateful to Steve (S.R.) Johnson and Ricardo Velarde for the valuable advice that goes well beyond the simple construction of a knife. Their mentoring has shown me the essence of what it is to be a knifemaker. I strive for a clean, elegant look in all my knives. I love the term Functional Art and my goal is to achieve just that. I want all my knives to be a pleasure to hold as well as a reliable and effective cutting instrument. I love knives and the knife community and I hope it shows in every blade I make.
